Mount Carmel Convent School was founded in Bhopal in the year 2005 by the Carmelites Sisters of St. Teresa. It is managed by the society of Northern Province of Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa, registered in M.P. under the Madhya Pradesh Societies, Registration Act 1959. The institute of the Carmelites Sisters of St. Teresa (CSST) was founded in 1887 by Mother Teresa of St. Rose of Lima in the town of Ernakulum in Kerala. It was a time when the vast majority of people were living in squalor and misery, and the poor were compelled to beg on the streets to earn a living. A caste-ridden society was the order of the day.
An educationist with a spiritual and social thrust and great zeal, Mother Teresa was convinced that all human beings are children of God, with a right to live in dignity. Imbued by her spirit, Carmelite Sisters of St. Teresa serve in the field of education, social and health action. A co-educational institution is presently conducting classes from Nursery, Lower K.G., Upper K.G., and 1st to 12th affiliated with CBSE, New Delhi No.1030636.The medium of instruction is English. Appropriate importance is given to Hindi. Adequate infrastructure having facilities including perfectly designed classrooms, fully furnished and well equipped laboratories, well stocked library, computer, music, sports rooms, an audio-visual hall, a vast and maintained playground equipped with a number of activity gadgets, swings and having a provision for outdoor games like football, basketball, volleyball, kho-kho, handball etc. have been developed to make this institution at par with any good one in the country. All other necessary utilities required for students have been made available in plenty.
